Actress Jameela Jamil Responds To Critics Of Her Role In New LGBT Show By Suddenly Proclaiming This…

(Tea Party 247) – Super “woke” actress and longtime LGBT activist, actress Jameela Jamil, is responding to criticism of her being cast in a new LGBT-focused TV show by now identifying as “queer.” That’s one way to shut up critics.

Jamil is set to be a judge on a new HBO dance contest show called Legendary but the news resulted in backlash online from people who say The Good Place star does not represent the black LGBT community.

The BBC reports:

US broadcaster HBO announced on Tuesday that the actress and model would be a judge on its new unscripted voguing contest Legendary.

The news prompted an online backlash from people who said The Good Place star was not representative of the black LGBT community.

That prompted her to issue a statement addressing her sexuality.

Opening with “Twitter is brutal”, she explained that she identified “as queer” and had previously struggled to discuss the topic because “it’s not easy within the south Asian community to be accepted”.

She mentioned that nobody in her family was “openly out” and that “it’s also scary as an actor to openly admit your sexuality, especially when you’re already a brown female in your thirties”.

One section of her official Twitter “coming out” statement, entitled “Twitter is Brutal,” says, “I know that my being queer doesn’t qualify me as ballroom. But I have privilege and power and a large following to bring to this show, (as does Megan Thee Stallion,) and its beautiful contestants and ballroom hosts. Sometimes it takes those with more power to help a show get off the ground so we can elevate marginalized stars that deserve the limelight and give them a chance. I’m not the MC. I’m not the main host. I’m just a lead judge due to my 11 years of hosting experience, being fully impartial, a newcomer to ballroom (like much of the audience will be) and therefore a window in for people who are just discovering it now, and being a longtime ally of the lgbtq community.”

It appears Jamil believes she is doing quite the charitable act by donating her “power” and “privilege” to help this show “get off the ground” and bring its “marginalized” stars to the limelight. Hopefully, these “marginalized” stars are forever grateful for her sacrifice and never forget it was her who contributed so heavily to their success.

Prior in her statement, she said she was getting off of Twitter saying, “I’m jumping off this hell app for a while because I don’t want to read mean comments.” Or be called out for being a fake and a panderer, perhaps?

It doesn’t matter that Jamil “logged off,” people weren’t fooled by her empty “coming out” charade. According to her Wikipedia bio, she has been in a relationship with musician James Blake since 2015. Just so we’re all on the same page, Blake is a man.

One Twitter user pointed this out and said what the rest of Twitter was thinking, “Here you go, Twitter falls for it. SHE’S GOT A BOYFRIEND. You don’t think it’s odd she comes out as “queer” after being criticised for possibly taking a gay person’s place on a show?”

This is a whole new level of political correctness.
