More Conservative Judges Heading to the Bench
(FinancialHealth.net) – COVID-19 is causing a lot of uncertainty in the country, even forcing Congress to grind nearly to a halt. With the Senate out until May, the upper chamber has held pro forma sessions in attempts to get the stimulus packages through. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) wants Americans to know the virus isn’t going to stop him from putting judges on the bench.
During an interview with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, the Senate leader reaffirmed his commitment to filling court vacancies.
ICYMI: I joined @hughhewitt to discuss Senate Republican's victory yesterday on more legislation to help American workers through the pandemic and the Senate’s continued focus on confirming impressive new judges. https://t.co/hmQsATvFJJ

President Donald Trump and the Republican majority in the Senate have filled 193 lifetime appointments. McConnell is fond of saying he will leave no vacancy behind.

Of all the actions the president has taken during his tenure, the confirmation of federal court judges will have the most lasting impact on America. Some could argue these justices shape the country more than Congress. Lawmakers might pass legislation, but the courts decide what stands. Right now, Mitch and Donald are ensuring the country leans to the right for decades.
