Stimulus Anxiety? IRS Has Your Back
(FinancialHealth.net) – COVID-19 has left many Americans in a financial mess. President Donald Trump and Congress recognized that and passed an emergency bill in March. The CARES Act promised Economic Impact Payments to most citizens, and soon those people will be able to track their stimulus funds.
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is launching a “Get My Payment” tool that will allow people who filed their taxes in 2018 and/or 2019 to find out when they’ll receive their stimulus funds.
To help everyone check the status of their Economic Impact Payment, #IRS is launching a tool that will provide the status of a payment, including the date it’s scheduled to be deposited or mailed. https://t.co/dwDsBkf1Xr #COVIDreliefIRS pic.twitter.com/a8eGJlx7ba

This tool will also allow people to enter their direct deposit information so the IRS can give them their money. There’s a separate portal where non-filers, but Social Security recipients won’t have to do anything to get their payments.
On April 11, the IRS sent the first wave of payments out to Americans. The first payments are to people who filed taxes in the years previously mentioned. The “Get My Payment” tool should be up and running by April 17, allowing everyone else to check on their funds.
