Teen Charged with Shooting a Seven-Year-Old Girl in Chicago
Chicago, Illinois, is one of the worst cities in America when it comes to the crime rate. No one is considered safe in the city, and it does not matter the age of the person, everyone is at risk of being shot or killed.
On Holloween, a seven-year-old girl was shot by a 15-year-old boy who had nothing else better to do than allegedly do a gang-related crime.
The girl was in a bumblebee costume and trick or treating and is now fighting for her life. The thug was charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault with a firearm while also shooting a 30-year-old man who was the intended target.
Anthony Gugliemi, who is a police spokesman, stated, “The girl is in critical condition, but doctors are optimistic about prognosis.” Family members of the girl released a simple statement they are “grateful for the outpouring of love and support shown by all of Chicago and the nation.”
Monday, the thug went before the judge for his hearing and found no mercy from the court or prosecutors. Police explained how the incident occurred, and The Chicago Tribune reported, “The intended target was walking near the girl when the attack occurred. Police located the man, who had shot in the hand, a block away, but he refused to talk to investigators.”
It was less than a month from the time the same group of gang members who allegedly killed nine-year-old Tyshawn Lee. It was a case that caught national attention and horrified the city. Both of the thugs involved were charged and convicted of murder.
Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson told the press, “I came here to brief you on the progress being made to reduce violence in the city of Chicago. But none of that matters if parents that live in certain communities can’t even take their children out on Halloween. There’s no place for this savagery in our city.”
Chicago is a city that seems to rot in its own filth as some politicians in the municipality defend this type of lifestyle. President Trump, however, called it right down the middle. His tweet Monday morning said it all, “Chicago will never stop its crime wave with the current Superintendent of Police. It just won’t happen!”
One of the politicians, Mayor Lori Lightfoot, who has been dead set against the president for trying to resolve the hardships in the city, verbally attacked the president defending the Superintendent.
She said, “Superintendent Eddie Johnson is a lifelong Chicagoan who has dedicated his career to public service. You only serve yourself. The crime wave you should be concerned about is the one you are perpetrating against the American people from the White House.” This obviously shows more hate toward the president than trying to solve the problem within her own jurisdiction.
Chicago had fewer numbers of homicides last month than it had in many years. It wasn’t until the president called them out something got done. Johnson stated, “One of the leading causes of this crime reduction is because we have community groups around the city, the ones most plagued by violence coming forward to partner with the police now.
We’ve had really a great deal of tips come in for this particular incident. And that tells me that people are tired of this senseless violence. But the progress was not yet a cause for celebration. We still have a lot of work to be done.”
These types of incidents we all know should never happen. The biggest problem with the city is the mayor. If the mayor would stop bashing the president for trying to resolve the issues around the city and others like it, and focus on working with the Superintendent of the police, then maybe something might get done.
Both are notorious for slandering President Trump. Still, at least this time, the Superintendent kept his mouth shut when it came to pointing the finger. With all the city’s filth and poverty-stricken areas, Ben Carson was working with the president to fix up the living areas. This, in turn, would ease the situation.
When President Trump mentioned the truth of the matter, the mayor got upset instead of working toward a solution for an apparent ongoing problem. This is how Democrats work. They want the people to continue to live in these circumstances and blame the “outsiders” who want to help fix the problem. Meanwhile, innocent children are being killed, and gang-related crimes are still happening.
