Indiana Considers Drastic Step to Protect the Unborn

(UnitedVoice.com) – Indiana State Rep. Curt Nisly, a Republican, introduced a new bill on Thursday that would ban abortion at any stage of development.

House Bill 1089 states:

“…human physical life begins when a human ovum is fertilized by a human sperm.”

It also changes the term “human being” so it includes any human life, even if it hasn’t been born yet. This change in definition would make anyone giving or receiving an abortion a murderer in the eyes of the law.

The bill also states if any court attempts to strike down the law, it’ll be considered “nonauthoritative, void, and of no force.” Federal officials who prevent the law from being carried out could be subject to arrest.

Nisly introduced a similar bill in 2019 that never received a hearing. Let’s see how far this one goes.
