Potential Bipartisan Support to Acquit Trump
(UnitedVoice.com) – It was always a slim chance for Democrats to win the impeachment trial with Republicans controlling the Senate. Though some Republicans have weakly considered voting in favor of impeachment, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) has acted behind the scenes to unify the Right on this trial. However, it’s not just Republicans that are sitting on the fence regarding their potential impeachment vote.
At least two Senate Democrats are considering acquitting Trump of at least one of the two impeachment charges. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Sen. Doug Jones (D-AL) have yet to make up their minds. Additionally, a third, Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) has been reluctant to share her thoughts about which way she’ll vote when the time comes.
Democrats have attempted to sway Republicans to their side with Bolton’s recent media breakthrough regarding his upcoming manuscript. Dems have only enjoyed limited success, though.
Anything could happen with the impeachment vote, but the odds are still stacked against the Left.
