Sanders Facing Resistance

Sanders Facing Resistance

(UnitedVoice.com) – Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders (D-VT) is attempting to overcome the backlash he’s received over the past week after allegedly telling rival Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) that a woman couldn’t win the election in 2020.

Over the weekend, Sanders spoke at the Seacoast Women’s March in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He covered his usual talking points — abortion, equal pay, etc. — and told the crowd of women that “we are in this together.”

Not surprisingly, Sanders’ message failed to hit home with some of the women gathered. Former state Senator Iris Estabrook was in attendance and felt that it was ironic that Sanders was speaking at a woman’s march and was bothered that he “didn’t respect the original purpose of the gathering.”

This isn’t Sanders’ first attempt to breakdown the resistance he’s been getting from female voters. On Friday, it was reported that he’d been thinking about choosing Warren as vice president or Treasury secretary.

Seems like his attempts at damage control aren’t working too well.
